Product Description
We understand that "Cinnamon" means different things to different industries. True Cinnamon (Ceylon/Sweet): Sourced primarily from Sri Lanka and Southern India, our True Cinnamon is characterized by its tan-brown color and soft, multi-layered quills filled like a cigar. It offers a sophisticated, floral, and slightly citrusy flavor profile with zero bitterness, making it the choice for high-end desserts and European markets.
Cassia (Strong/Chinese/Vietnamese): Sourced from the boldest crops in Vietnam, Indonesia, and India, our Cassia features a dark reddish-brown color and a hard, single-layer bark. It delivers the intense, spicy "hot" kick that consumers associate with cinnamon rolls and heavy curries. At Fittree International, we ensure both varieties are properly dried and cleaned to prevent mold, offering them in Whole, Split, or Broken grades.
Key Features & Health Benefits
- Blood Sugar Control: Both varieties (especially Cassia) are extensively studied for their ability to lower blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity, making them popular supplements for diabetics.
- Anti-Inflammatory: Packed with antioxidants (polyphenols) that help reduce systemic inflammation and lower the risk of chronic disease.
- Heart Health: Cinnamon consumption has been linked to reduced levels of total cholesterol, LDL "bad" cholesterol, and triglycerides.
- Antimicrobial: The essential oil (Cinnamaldehyde) fights fungal and bacterial infections, often used in natural preservatives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Cinnamon & Cassia β answered by our export team.
Ceylon (True Cinnamon) is soft, multi-layered, sweet, and has very low coumarin (<0.04 mg/kg) β ideal for EU and health-conscious markets. Cassia is thicker, darker, spicier, and has higher coumarin. We source both with full traceability documentation.
Ceylon: below 0.04 mg/kg (EU Directive 2088/128/EC fully compliant for daily use). Cassia coumarin content is measured and labeled per EU regulations. Lab certificates per batch.
Whole quills (Ceylon), splits, quillings, sticks (5β20 cm custom cuts), coarse powder, and fine powder. Grades: Mexico (C5), Hamburg (C4), and Alba (finest). Organic and conventional variants available.
MOQ is 500 kg. Available in 5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg, and 50 kg PP bags and cardboard boxes. A 20 ft container holds 8β10 MT. Private label packaging from 500 kg.
Ceylon: minimum 1% volatile oil (cinnamaldehyde). Cassia: minimum 2% volatile oil. GC-MS analysis confirms volatile oil per batch. Cinnamaldehyde at 55β65% minimum guaranteed for food grade exports.
EU, UK, Australia, and US natural food markets prefer Ceylon (low coumarin). Food service, bakery, and confectionery manufacturers in Asia and the Middle East typically use Cassia for cost efficiency.
